What the petition asks

Ban or make it a criminal offense to do non-consensual/consensual conversion therapy or even offer it.
Forcing people to go abroad to "convert them"

As a young member of the LGBTQ+ community I believe that conversion therapy is very detrimental to lots of my fellow peers minds I believe we should all go through out life not having people question your identity or pressure to find a "cure" for being who you are.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Since you started your petition, the Government has announced its plans to bring forward legislation during the current Parliamentary session to ban 'conversion therapy'. You can read more about this here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-sets-out-plan-to-ban-conversion-therapy.
