Bring in automatic voter registration with an 'opt-out' system

What the petition asks
Automatically add every eligible UK citizen to the voting register on their 18th birthday unless they choose to 'opt out'.
In 2020 the government changed the law surrounding organ donation to an opt out system. They recognised that having to register was an unnecessary barrier which prevented people from donating where they would have otherwise wanted to.
A similar 'opt out' system should be applied to voting. For democracy to flourish we need as many people to vote as possible- so we need to make it as easy as possible!!
People who do not wanted to be added automatically should fill in a form to declare this.
