Ban the manufacture and sale of dog waste bags not made of plant-based material

What the petition asks
Ban the manufacture and sale of plastic (including degradable) dog waste bags to reduce use of petroleum and to cut CO2 emissions and plastic pollution.
Millions of dog waste bags are thrown away every day. Some into trees!
The vast majority are made of plastic, and are not recyclable by their use. Even degradable plastic uses petroleum products and degrades to form CO2.
There's a clear strategy by the vendors of the degradable bags to make them seem environmentally friendly as people don't appreciate they help cause global warming.
Plant-based bags (e.g. corn starch) are sustainable and non-polluting. We already use them as food waste bags.
