Legislate for a 60% threshold as the success criteria for all future referendums

What the petition asks
The UK Government should pass a law specifying that, in all cases where it is involved in setting or agreeing the terms of a future referendum, the criteria for the referendum to pass is a minimum of 60% of the vote.
The recent votes on leaving the EU and Scotland leaving the UK have aroused great passion on both sides of the argument. They show that no one is ever going to be happy or accept when leaving is anywhere near 50-50.
