AWARD A DAY OFF DURING EID EL-FITR AND EID AL-ADHA FROM SCHOOLS AND WORK.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Muslims and their families have the right to have at least two days off on Eid over the year (EID EL FITR and EID EL ADHA ). This is so that they can enjoy their religious festivities with their families and practice their own faith peacefully.
To spread equality, freedom, social and multi-faith rights among an ever growing British society.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want people to have time off for Eid, but it's not clear if you want this to be one or two days. We also can't publish petitions that call for new legal entitlements for people of a particular faith, as this would not be consistent with the Equality Act.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Make Eid a national holiday for all citizens: Make Eid a national holiday for all citizens.
