Remove the 'temporary' traffic lights at the Parkway Station rail bridge

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Please remove these lights and temporary road narrowing as soon as possible as they are stopping residents accessing their own homes and are increasing local pollution levels.
The traffic coming into Stoke Gifford has become unbearable and made it impossible to access the Ratcliffe Drive / Sandringham Road /North Road areas as traffic is backed up to Aviva in one direction and Winterbourne Road in the other. The problem is further worsened by the ongoing road closure at Gipsy Patch Lane railway bridge.
Although the lights were provided to widen the pedestrian/cyclist access, the fact that the space is part road and part pavement makes it difficult to use as a cyclist and the current pollution levels must surely be offsetting any benefit.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for. Decisions about local traffic restrictions are a matter for your local authority, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.

You could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
