Allow shisha cafes to serve shisha from 21st June 2021

What the petition asks

We would like the Government to consider the regulations around reopening shisha cafes with their full service offer.

Right hygiene practices such as the use of disposable shisha pipes and strict cleaning procedures shisha can still be COVID-safe for all members of the public.
Shisha cafes are a culturally important hubs for communities to come together and have a peaceful environment to enjoy for few hours.

The Government is currently writing off the shisha cafe industry and is failing to implement strategic plans for opening businesses with an emphasis on safety during the pandemic which is impacting a lot off businesses. We need to come together in this difficult time and make shisha as safe as possible and put in strict measures to ensure safety of all.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Government have not indicated that shisha venues will be excluded from businesses allowed to reopen when Step 4 of the roadmap is reached:
