Make Calorie Labelled Menus An Optional choice

What the petition asks
The Government has announced plans to introduce legislation enforcing businesses with over 250 employees to calorie label all food they sell. We ask the government to amend this legislation so that businesses are required to offer 2 types of menus: calorie labelled & non-labelled.
We believe calorie counting is not an effective means of controlling obesity. Furthermore, during the pandemic there have been reports of increased cases of eating disorders. We believe this legislation would negatively impact the entire population, not just people with diagnosed ED’s.
As a compromise, requiring food businesses to offer 2 choices of menus would allow vulnerable people the autonomy to not look at the calories.
