Require all Universities to return to full On-Campus teaching in September!

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

We are calling on the Government to require all universities to return to Full on campus teaching programmes from September.
(notwithstanding any further covid restrictions)
Education started to return to full face to face from March 2021, it is irrational for Universities not to do the same 6 months later.

By 25th September, the Government expects to have offered all adults a full (2 dose) vaccination.

When the risks have been severly mitigated against and when online teaching has been shown to be detrimental to mental health. It is Irrational for Universities to offer a learning experience which is detrimental to students education and their mental health.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about university teaching, assessments and exams are a matter for individual universities, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you have concerns about your university's arrangements for teaching and assessment you should raise these with your university or the Office for Students, which regulates the higher education sector.

We understand that the current situation is stressful for many people, including students. Student Minds, a mental health charity for students, is collating guidance and developing resources to support students experiencing stress as a result of the current situation, which you may find useful: https://www.studentminds.org.uk/coronavirus.html
