Ensure that everyone can get an appointment with their GP within five days

What the petition asks
The Government should make it a requirement for local NHS trusts to ensure that every patient who is registered with a General Practitioner (GP) is able to make an appointment with their GP within five working days. Additional funding should be provided to enable this to happen.
Many people have seen access to a GP drastically reduced in recent years even before the Covid pandemic. This is a threat to the public health of the nation.
Underlying symptoms can be missed because patients are given the impression that appointments should only be made for emergencies.
