Withdraw from the UN's Durban IV Conference

Closed 448 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government should withdraw from the UN's Durban IV Conference - following the US, Australia and Canada - because we believe there is a risk of it becoming an Israel hatefest.
The UN is poised to adopt a declaration calling for full implementation of the 2001 Durban Declaration. This singles out only one country by name: Israel.

Durban was the catalyst for intense NGO anti-Israel activity. It has been reported that the Ambassador of Israel to the UN said (31.1.20) “Twenty years ago, the Durban conference convened with the worthy goal of combating racism. But, like many UN initiatives, it was promptly hijacked by organizations and member states that are interested in attacking Israel and delegitimizing its right to exist.”

The US, Australia and Canada have pulled out of Durban IV.

The United Kingdom must follow.
