Products must have warning labels if they contain harmful toxic chemicals.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

The products we use everyday could have harmful toxic chemicals that could be destroying our health every single day. Exposure to toxic chemicals such as Bisphenol A (BPA) and Phthalates could cause problems with the reproductive system. Therefore we must know about what chemicals are in products.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Suppliers are already required to label hazardous goods, so we're not clear what it is you'd like the Government to do.

Decisions on which materials should be classed as hazardous are the responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), not the UK Government or Parliament. You can find out more about this here: https://www.hse.gov.uk/chemical-classification/labelling-packaging/index.htm

You could start a petition calling for manufacturers to be required to label each individual hazardous component on goods available to the public, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
