What the petition asks

To pass a law to allow IBD patients access to non public toilets at establishments when public toilets are unavailable. Currently patients are refused, even when displaying their cant wait cards. This means they end up soiling themsleves or their stoma, containing faeces can overflow/leak.

To make it law that IBD patients are given access to toilets at establishments when public toilets are unavailable. IBD patients are currently being refused access even when displaying their cant wait card or radar key. This card indicates that the IBD patient requires urgent access to a toilet. If not they can soil themselves or their stoma can overflow. This causes immense anxiety over leaving the house and completing daily needs such as shopping. It takes away freedom.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about access to privately maintained toilets is a matter for individual businesses, not the Government or House of Commons.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require local authorities to provide free public toilets in certain places, or to provide funding to increase numbers of public toilets, if those are things you want to happen.
