What the petition asks
Make life-saving lower surgeries available for trans people assigned female at birth on the NHS.
Surgeries like phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, scrotoplasty, implants, and revision surgeries are absolutely vital to the health and wellbeing of trans people in the UK. Not only do these surgeries address medical problems that are left untouched by other areas of trans healthcare, but are also essential to the mental health of many trans people. Making these surgeries available on the NHS is to preserve the lives and quality of life of trans people in the UK.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. NHS England does already commission these services, although it is a clincial decision as to whether they are offered.
