Music Industry - Artist Welfare Inquiry!

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like the government to conduct an investigation regarding artist welfare and the exploitation of artists/musicians within the ‘Music Industry’. Up to 85% of workers are reporting (Bullying, Harassment, Sexual harassment) within the Industry.
Artists and freelancers working within the creative industries deserve to to be protected by legislation. Our government has a duty to ensure that basic human rights laws are being adhered to within our creative industries.

The measures that are currently in place are not fit for purpose. Countless individuals are having to endure intimidation, harassment and bullying within the workplace.

There is currently no CRB/DBS checks or licences required to work with young musicians.
