What the petition asks
Vindaloo by Fat Les is a modern classic, and represents 21st century England (and Britain if you ignore the "ENGLAND" bit) far better than God Save the Queen could ever do. It is also much a much more rousing tune.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This isn’t something that the UK Government or Parliament would be able to do. The use of the present National Anthem is a matter of tradition rather than having any legal or constitutional status.
