Inform the general public about the climate emergency.

What the petition asks
We need an ongoing public information campaign to ensure that the people of the UK understand the threat posed by the climate and ecological emergency, and the scale of the changes that are needed in response to it.
Entrenched interests, including lobby groups and individuals funded by oil companies, are defending their short-term profits by muddying the waters around the climate emergency. Misinformation, misunderstanding and outright denial continue to flourish, despite overwhelming scientific consensus and plentiful evidence of collapse all around us. The government must provide the general public with authoritative information about the imminence of danger and the need for rapid, large-scale action.
