Fund specialist pathways for diagnosis and support for people with ASD
Closed

What the petition asks
The Government should fund specialist diagnostic and support services for those who have or are suspected to have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The service should provide a diagnosis pathway and an offer of support following diagnosis, working with other agencies such as schools and social care.
Current provisions for those with ASD and associated sub profiles are inadequate, and largely reliant on charities.
There are private providers, but these are very expensive, meaning many are unable to access them.
Mental health services, already overwhelmed, are doing what they can but more specialised diagnostic and support services are required.
