Petition · past parliament

Allow congregational singing in churches in England once again, as in Wales.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

As Christians across England in many different denominations, we call on the government to allow congregational singing in services as soon as possible. The current guidelines are inconsistent (see article on EA website "Churches muted by government inconsistency and intransigence") and unfair.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want all congregational singing to be allowed to resume, or only in areas with low Covid-19 rates, as is the case in Wales

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
