Allow Parents to attend sports days & Proms to go ahead

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Government should lift COVID restrictions for parents to attend sports days at schools and also allow Proms to go ahead indoors given the students are already in a year group ‘bubble’
If major sporting event can go ahead & the government allow increased capacity and no isolation for those entering the country then why can’t bubble year groups have their Proms indoors and why can’t parents attend their child’s sports day when being held outside. Unfair rule for all!

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a decision for individual schools.

The Department for Education have confirmed that there is no legal bar on spectators attending, providing that legal limits on outdoor gatherings and groups are followed:

We could accept a petition calling for school proms to be exempt from indoor gathering restrictions, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
