Make the beauty industry safe

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the beauty industry to hold a register similar to what the NMC have.
I would like all fully qualified Level 3 and above therapists with full beauty therapy NVQ or VTCT to be given a unique PIN number in order to join a register to prove they are insured & uphold safety in beauty standards.
Too many fully qualified therapists are put into the same catagory as ‘lays’ who do one day courses. We are highly skilled at what we do and train for 3 yrs to gain our certification. We are constantly put down & it’s time to stand up for our amazing industry after all we are one of the industry’s that’s worth billions per year and it’s not fair we are put down constantly. If there was a professional register for us to join I believe it would make our industry safer & weed out the ‘lays’.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about existing oversight of the beauty industry, but it's not clear if you just want a register to be introduced for people in the industry who have certain qualifications, or if you want the Government to also prevent people who are not registered from working in the beauty industry.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
