Require all medication packaging list details of a suicide prevention helpline

What the petition asks
The Government should require a short, but bold and effective message on all medication, whether prescription or available over the counter. This should target those who may attempt to take their own life via overdose, and should list a contact such as 111 or a service such as the Samaritans.
Public Health England (2017/2018) found 26,293 young people aged 10 to 24 were admitted to hospital due to intentional self-poisoning.
A simple step such as a message on each box of medication could encourage people to seek help. This should in turn improve quality of life, and reduce burden on the NHS.
