Allow parents to watch their children’s school events like sports day & plays.

What the petition asks
Sports are being allowed with thousands of people, yet small schools are not allowed to hold events for children, such as sports days, school fairs and school plays with parents to support and attend. This sends a very mixed messaged when other areas are without restrictions!
Allow parents to be present at school events, even if it is only one parent per child.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a decision for individual schools.
The Department for Education have confirmed that there is no legal bar on spectators attending, providing that legal limits on outdoor gatherings and groups are followed:
https://dfemedia.blog.gov.uk/2021/06/18/can-sports-days-go-ahead-and-will-i-be-able-to-attend-we-answer-your-questions/
We could publish a petition calling for an exemption for indoor mixing for school plays, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
