To give the honey bee the same protection as bumble bees.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To afford to give honey bee swarms the same protection as the bumble bee and their nests
To stop so many migrating hives being took by bee keepers and moved to other sites. By keep moving these swarms effects the migration pattern of these hives, which follow the local flora blooms. This in the long term effects the natural balance of flora and fauna. Leaving these swarms alone will also stop man spreading diseases agmonst the populations also.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Your petition calls for honey bees to be given the same protections as bumble bees, but there are no specific legal protections for bumble bees that could be extended to honey bees.

If there are specific protections you want to be introduced for honey bees you could start a new petition explaining clearly what protections you would like the Government or Parliament to introduce. For example, you could call for honey bees to be made a protected species, or for the Government to review existing protections for honey bee populations and habitats.
