Make HGV salaries a minimum of 38.000/year

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To resolve the national lorry driver shortage, HGV salaries a minimum of 38.000/year would bring people back on roads that at the moment do other jobs than lorry driving.
A courier on a van, a taxi driver, they all earn more than a lorry driver. A lot of jobs are better paid than a lorry driver
To solve the national shortage and also to provide a better living style for the lorry drivers that are so underestimated, but we and NHS kept the country going through the pandemic. After it...NOBODY CARES AGAIN!

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government isn't responsible for setting salaries for private businesses, but you might like to sign this petition calling for a higher minimum hourly wage
