Keep masks mandatory on public transport after 19th July

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Keep the current rules on mask wearing on public transport until
(1) 100% of adults in the UK have had the opportunity have both COVID-19 vaccine doses
(2) Daily COVID-19 case rates are below 5,000 for 5 consecutive days.
COVID-19 cases are rising sharply across the country, yet the government are promising to scrap all restrictions on the 19th July, including masks on public transport.

Whilst a "you take your own risks" approach may be appropriate for social gatherings, pubs, bars or clubs, public transport should be kept as safe as possible for everyone. Masks help keep public transport safe, especially when COVID-19 cases are high.
