Increase the Savings Limit for Means Tested State Benefits

What the petition asks
Universal Credit and other means tested state benefits cannot be claimed by anyone with more than £16,000 in savings or capital.
This limit has not been changed since it was introduced 33 years ago. It would be outrageous if tax allowances were left unchanged for more than three decades. The savings limit for means tested state benefits should be increased substantially, to take account of the fact that £16,000 is worth considerably less today than it was in 1988.
