Fund research into MCAS to ensure formal recognition and diagnosis by the NHS

What the petition asks
Mast cell activation syndrome is a poorly understood immunological condition in which mast cells excessively release chemical mediators, resulting in a range of symptoms, sometimes including anaphylaxis. Thousands of patients are misdiagnosed every year even though MCAS is recognized by the CDC.
While MCAS is recognized by the United States' CDC with it's own ICD-10 code, it suffers from insufficient recognition in the UK medical system. There is still much to be learned about MCAS and the number of people suffering with this disease is increasing rapidly. In addition patients experiencing "Long Covid" are reporting many of the same MCAS symptoms. These patients need recognition of their condition and a concerted effort to educate A&E staff of the potential risk to life posed by MCAS.
