What the petition asks
Any further cuts to the public health school nursing service will result in a detrimental effect on children and young peoples health and wellbeing with lifelong consequences.
School nurses are crucial in supporting the emotional wellbeing & physical health of school-aged children. The leadership, specialist public health and clinical expertise of school nurses is exceptional and fundamental to delivering high quality evidence-based care. School nurses support partners and advocate for children and young people to ensure the voice of the child is heard. Covid has intensified the requirement of the educative and supportive role of the school nursing service.
