What the petition asks
Covid 19 is here to stay and although we have vaccinated the majority of people the autumn/winter could still increase cases to unmanageable levels. This is a threat to the NHS and its ability to cope with increase cases of hospitalizations without the risk of further lockdowns.
Brexit has driven away 22,000 staff who have now gone back to their home countries. Boris Johnson has said he wants to recruit 50,000 but is dependent on 12,000 of these coming from over seas.
With the effect the pandemic has had on unemployment, especially in younger generations shouldn't we be encouraging them to go into nursing by making it free to train at university or on the job? Please scrap their student loans to encourage more nurses to train.
