Make LGBTQIA+ education a part of the syllabus across England.

What the petition asks

Ensure that history of the LGBTQIA+ community is acknowledged within primary and secondary education. An increase in awareness and understanding of the community with hopefully reduce hate crimes towards gay/lesbian/trans people across England.
Across England, hate crimes appear to be increasing and nobody is doing a thing about it. People need to be educated upon why their actions are wrong and unjust.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Schools are already required to teach about intimate and sexual relationships, including sexual health, and must ensure that the needs of all pupils are appropriately met, and integrate LGBT content into their programmes of study for this area of the curriculum. You can find out more here:
