Urge the South African government to protect Minority Groups in South Africa

What the petition asks
I appeal to the UK government to please put pressure on the South African government to provide sufficient protection for citizens facing current violent protests due to the jailing of former president for Contempt of Court.
The threat to life is imminent and the lack of defence from government structures is visible. Please put pressure on SA to protect citizens who have been disproportionately targeted during the violent unrest which began on 10 July 2021. This behaviour is evidenced by the looting of businesses, destruction of residential suburbs and attacks on social media.
Can the UK government offer safety or assist with support?
