Abolish prescription fees

What the petition asks
Citizens of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland do not have to pay the prescription tax yet in England we do. The £9.35 charge often results in patients asking their doctor "what can I do without?" for financial reasons. Some people resort to buying medication online which can lead to death.
I used to be a pharmacy technician. If you take administration into account the prescription tax costs more to run than it brings in! That's not my view, that was the view of staff at the health authority. It would not be difficult to make up for the financial shortfall. Well-organized good quality clinical medicine is always without exception value for money medicine.
