Mandate universities to take decisive action against racism

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Call for Universities to take a firm stand and show perspective students and current students that their university places are at risk if they continue to post online racist comments. This shows people that racism will not be tolerated by educational institutions any longer

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.

Decisions about codes of conduct for university students and disciplinary action by universities are a matter for individual universities, not the Government or House of Commons.

As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
