Ban powered watercraft from coming within 200m of recreational beaches

Closed 108 signatures

What the petition asks

Make it an offence for users of all types of powered watercraft to come within 200m of the shoreline of designated recreational beaches. There could be exemptions for buoy marked access lanes to and from landing and launch points and for emergency craft such as the RNLI.
The use of powered watercraft, jetskis in particular, in some areas, such as my local beaches in Poole and Bournemouth, is out of control. Currently it is up to local authorities what restrictions to impose on watercraft, but this is not good enough. I recently narrowly missed being run over while snorkeling within 10 meters of the shore. If action is not taken, sometime may be seriously injured or killed.
