Require all breakdown vehicles have fitting points for isofix seats

Closed 159 signatures

What the petition asks

To ensure what happened to me doesn’t happen again. Breakdown vehicles are currently not fitted with isofix to ensure infant car seats can be fitted during a breakdown rescue. Not all infant seats can be secured by a seatbelt and need isofix to make sure they are safe to travel.
I broke down on the M25 and had to sit with my 11 month old on my lap as his car seat wasn’t able to be secured due to the rescue vehicle not having isofix fittings. The vehicle took us to a safe location where we had to wait 3 hours for a taxi with isofix to take us home. If the rescue vehicle was fitted with isofix we would of been able to go home with the car. I want to make sure infants are safe in a breakdown situation as sitting on a parents lap is not safe.
