Record PTSD and suicide for serving and retired police officers

Closed 2,834 signatures

What the petition asks

An informed and coherent debate should take place on the levels of PTSD diagnoses and suicide within both the serving and retired police officer communities. This should be led by a Governmental requirement for these issues to be recorded and reported by doctors and coroners.
The issues of service-related PTSD and suicide are seriously affecting serving and retired police officers, and their families; yet still the statistical incidence of PTSD diagnoses and suicides within these communities go unrecorded and unknown. Only by statistically gauging the true depth of these issues can effective measures be put in place to identify those who are vulnerable and to mitigate the destructive effects of PTSD within the UK police service.
