What the petition asks
Every year around July/August human waste can be seen where children swim & play in the river Ouse. Subject to local byelays boats can discharge waste directly into rivers. There is no need for this archaic danger to people and wildlife they should be pumped into waste units.
Although new boats are required to have a holding tank for waste, many boats simply discharge waste directly into the river. Every year from July to August human waste can be seen floating about where young children are swimming along the river Ouse.
To tackle this the Government should make it illegal for boats to discharge waste into rivers.
