Stop culling of retired racehorses. Make it illegal to put down a healthy horse.

What the petition asks
For the Government to stop the culling of retired race horses. The Government should pass a law making it illegal to cull healthy horse, including retired racehorses. Horses should only be put down if there is a medical reason, and even then this should be carried out by a qualified vet.
To protect these hard working horses, many of which have won millions of pounds for many people, and have made some people very rich.
These beautiful horses deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
They deserve a safe and happy retirement, not to be 'got rid of' because they can no longer race.
We are an animal loving nation we need to protect these hard working animals ensuring they can end their days in peace, safety & comfort.
There are centres in the UK who will take on retired race horses.
