Scrap the list of banned breeds of dogs

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Start making people have a license to own dogs that is classed as "dangerous". The list of breeds banned and the ones that are not banned, this list is lacking logic and basic knowledge about the abilities of different breeds that are not allowed. Punish offenders with a lifetime bans of owning dogs
There is not need in putting down dogs (Killing them) without giving them them the correct training and owners for the dog.
It is not fair on the dogs especially killing puppies that have just been born, with out giving them a chance to prove they are loving and caring.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you're concerned about breed specific legislation for dogs, however it's not clear how the breeds for which you would require a license would be determined if the existing 'list' of breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act was scrapped.
