Children shouldn't have to be christened to get into a school

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the government to stop schools putting pressure onto parents saying they must be christened they must attend church if you have any chance for your child attending that school
We shouldnt be forced to do something we dont believe in or want to do.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the admission criteria for certain schools, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

Faith schools are able to give priority to children from a particular religion, but it is up to indiviudal faith schools how to set their admission criteria, and what advice to give to parents wishing to send their child to their school. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to stop faith schools being able to give priority to children from a particular religion, if that's something you would like to happen.
