Make Epi Pens Free for over 18’s in the UK

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

According to Anaphylaxis UK “An estimated 21.3 million adults (33%) in the UK suffer from at least one allergy,” despite this little support and funding is given to the allergy community. Leading to preventable deaths. Having access to Epi pens should not be based on wealth or age.
Being diagnosed with a severe allergy is a life changing moment for the people diagnosed and those around them. They not only have to face the illness itself, but the constant anxiety and the search for ‘free from’ foods, and the cost of this. There is then further costs for those over 18 as they have to pay for their Epi Pens; not everyone has the economic means to pay for this, meaning people may have to rely on out of date, and therefore ineffective, Epi Pens.
