Regulate UK Pet Insurers - a sector worth 1.1 Billion annually.

What the petition asks
I want the UK Parliament to look into better regulation of Pet Insurance. There is no set criteria to how they manage the renewal of premiums meaning that some providers are charging over 50% increase year on year with an unfair risk rating.
Pet Insurance as a financial product is governed by the FOS, but there is no governance around renewals. There is over 50 million domestic pets in the UK, a 1.1 Billion pound per year business. People are struggling to pay for pet care due to the growing costs. Pets are dying as the costs increase year on year. The Government needs to review what is happening in this industry and ensure that this sector is treating everyone fairly and not putting profit before affordability of care.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the regulation of pet insurance, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petitions calls for a review of the sector and better regulation of pet insurance, but it's not clear if all you want is some measures to limit increases in the cost of renewing pet insurance (which would be a matter for individual insurance providers, not the Government or House of Commons), or something else.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
