Stop the introduction of the hierarchy of road users on responsibility

The DVSA have recently made changes to the Highway code. One of these changes is to give priority to pedestrians waiting to cross at junctions.

If you are turning left from a main road to a side road, as the driver you are to allow the pedestrian to cross.

This is a very bad idea

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about proposed changes to the Highway Code, but it's not clear if you want the Government to abandon plans to introduce a hierarchy of road users, or to clarify existing rules on pedestrian priority on pavements, or both. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
