Stop Crawley closing the adventure playgrounds.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Parent/ carers are saddened to hear that Crawley council want to close the adventure playgrounds, these areas allow children to interact and be children in a safe environment. These facilities provide mental support for families and allow children to explore who they are as individuals and exercise.
Given the recent events, we believe that taking away these play facilities will leave children with no where to go , no where to explore and given the level of support that they provide no safe place if they need. Please help us to stop our children’s futures being ruined . Mental health is such a worrying thing and on the increase daily that surely this should be taken seriously into consideration along with all the other points.
We would like the government/parliament to take action as we have tried the local council in the past and nothing has been done to ensure/ guarantee the continued opening of our local adventure play /park areas

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about local planning decisions are a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.

If you are concerned about planning decisions in your area you could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
