Make schools add an optional gender neutral PE class.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the government to make it Mandatory for schools to see if their is a large enough community of non-binary and non-gender specific students they must set up a separate class not defined as male or female and it must follow the exact same rules and curriculum as the other classes.
The government should do this because I have personally experienced the unfair societal norms that create an environment in schools that make me feel uncomfortable and awkward in my PE lesson. People such as myself deserve to feel just as included as others in this day and age. This is especially important at a school where people learn lessons and morals that they will carry forward their whole life.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

It is up to schools, within their wider equality obligations, how to structure PE lessons and whether to have multiple PE classes.

You could have a petition calling on the Government to ban schools from separating children by sex for PE, if that's something you would like to happen.
