What the petition asks
We are paying the French £50 million to assist stopping asylum seekers making the dangerous journey from France to the UK. . the French are pocketing the money,my petition demands the UK government discounts £2000 per landed person off our payment and charges same if landed more than 500 per week.
To control our borders and to incentivise the French government into effectively stopping the dangerous cross channel passages of asylum seekers into the UK. At the moment the French appear to assist asylum seekers out of France and our government don't appear to have any ideas how to restrict this dangerous people movement.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Home Secretary and the French Interior Minister have signed an agreement to strengthen joint efforts to tackle illegal immigration, but this does not provide for the UK to "bill" France in the event that people successfully enter the UK illegally.
