Review the criminal justice system for child sexual offence allegations

What the petition asks
Review the criminal justice system and procedures for child sexual offence allegations, to ensure the welfare of the child is prioritised. All too often the perpetrator walks free because these cases don’t make it to court. This isn’t good enough and something somewhere needs to change.
Disclosing sexual abuse is a difficult and distressing experience for any victim, even worse if the victim is a child. And all too often these cases never go to court, therefore a child never gets justice for the abuse they’ve suffered. The perpetrator walks free and the vulnerable child is left feeling let down, losing faith in humanity, police and the legal system.
