Stop petrol stations charging .9p (or other decimal points) for fuel.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

It has become the norm for the "point nine of a p" to be used by petrol stations of all sorts - independents, big chains and supermarkets. It's simply irritating and a silly way of trying to trick people into thinking £1.43.9 isn't really £1.44.
I would like it stopped because this every day, kind-of-a-con, should not be ubiquitous. Nothing can be bought for point anything of a pence so why can a litre of fuel be offered for sale at a price containing a fraction of a penny? It shouldn't. It's a simple thing that should be legislated off the forecourts.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.

Decisions about what prices to charge for fuel are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or House of Commons.

As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
