Reform school behaviour policies to prioritise wellbeing and inclusion

What the petition asks
We want the Government to recognise the need for a system-wide review and redevelopment of school behaviour policies, support and training, to benefit young people in schools; aiming to complement and extend the DfE guidance on supporting emotional wellbeing and inclusion.
To be able to learn, all children need to feel safe, in a calm, orderly positive environment. More than ever, all children, young people and adults in schools, especially the most vulnerable, will need support to recover their sense of well-being, following the COVID-19 pandemic. Developing systems of behaviour management that are relational, empathetic and aim to understand conduct through the lens of a child’s prior experiences, will rebuild trusting relationships in order that they thrive.
